The Morning Workout

Working out should form part of everyone's daily routine. Whether you walking, running, or pumping iron in the gym, working out has many physical and mental benefits.


But finding the right time of the day to work out, can be challenging due to time and our daily life schedules.


Some may enjoy working out after school drop-off, afternoon, or in the evening after work, but have you ever considered a morning workout?


There is nothing better than starting your day with movement, escaping the Hong Kong summer heat and humidity, and listening to birds chirping.


There are many benefits to working out in the morning.


Firstly, you start your day on the front foot with few distractions. No text messages, emails, or phone calls. For 30 minutes to an hour, you get to focus on yourself, and the workout with no excuses.


We have all read articles or listened to experts speak on the positive effect working out can have on your mood. Morning Workouts, get you in your zone and laser-focused on your daily activities ahead. You become more engaging and less stressed.


As humans, we are creatures of habit. Starting your day off with a morning workout can develop good choices and habits. These choices and habits can lead to your daily life. For example, you start making better food and eating choices or becoming more disciplined in seeing things through.


Sleep is very important and is the best form of recovery. Some research has found that working out in the morning has a positive effect on your sleep patterns. You are more likely to fall asleep faster and most nights sleep like a baby. This allows you to wake up fresh and ready to start your day and you are more likely to wake on the right side of the bed.


Have you reached a certain time of the day and you need that cup of coffee to give an extra boost? Morning Workouts can become your extra cup of coffee. It gives you that energy boost you need to get through the day. So why not start your day with an energy boost?


For anyone reading this blog, don't think that you should jump into morning workouts. Im just sharing the positive and benefits of morning workouts.


However, if you are considering switching to morning workouts, but are finding it hard to get motivated, form an exercise group, with a a group of friends or join the many exercise groups we have in our Discovery Bay community.
