Team Fear

After being pressured by their children, a group of keen adventure races organized a unique and challenging adventure race for kids.

In 2001, 40 kids took part in the first Team Fear Race.

In the beautiful surroundings of Discovery Bay, the race grew over the next 18 years to became a marked event for the DB and Hong Kong communities, with 1000 competitors participating in 2019.

After a three-year hiatus due to COVID-19, Team Fear is back and will see 300 competitors race on Sunday, the 3rd of December.

Competitors will compete in age groups from u9 to u16 and in teams of 2 and participate in various disciplines, such as running, canoeing, rock climbing, and coasteering. Competitors can compete in their gender groups or compete as mixed teams.

While you may have some competitive races looking to complete the race in record time, the race is open to all ability levels. The race aims to allow competitors to try something new and challenge themselves.

Much planning and support goes into organizing and running Team Fear.

The event is supported by Hong Kong Resorts, and over 200 parent volunteer marshalls assist with running the events on the day.

Safety is the top priority for competitors and a comprehensive risk analysis and assessment are completed before the race.

Team Fear has a solid foundation and values for the community.

For the last 13 years, Team Fear has partnered with Youth Outreach and donated over 1 million dollars.

Youth Outreach is a charity dedicated to helping people experiencing homelessness and at-risk youth grow into responsible community members.

Team Fear believes that Youth Outreach Charity fits the spirit of the race and allows competitors to pay the way forward for those less privileged.

With less than a week to go for Team Fear, we wish all the competitors the very best, and we look forward to seeing all of you run, swim, and canoe around our beautiful surroundings in DB.
